They've terminated and revoke licenses on the personal opinion of the owners that the artists work was obscene (like creating a nude sculpture, a nude human form, excessive gore, or that felt it belittled or demeaned their religion) without refund. Thats how you become a stable long term and loved company.ģD Coat has a serious problem that should send every artist screaming in the opposite direction.

Other companies should take a good hard look at Pixologic and do what they did. Pixologic is a company that has done everything right in terms of customer focus and customer priority. But you know what, because they didn't push me to buy or pay for upgrades or do anything underhanded I bought more licenses for my home computer and my work computer, and converted a few coworkers into liking and using ZBrush. Its the same license, more than 10 years of updates, not a penny more was asked of me. 1 retopo in 3d coat is much more intuitive then many other applications 2 uvmapping is simply fantastic and the best i have ever seen 3 it now has the abillity to make PBR rendered materials, so if say you do want to buy this but not use substance painter, you could, still tho substance painter does a better job with PBR materials tho im sure 3d coat will come into its own with PBR soon too, its just a matter of time as PBR is still really new here and needs time to mature, which these dev's are really good at keeping up on things.ZBrush may cost a little more but once you buy its yours for life with upgrades for life. however 3d coat is a life and time saver for a lot of reasons. The only thing i would use maya for is anything to do with UE4 engine, otherwhys yes blender is outstanding for what it does which is simply just about everything. #3d coat steam full version
IMO the only reason to use even the full version of Maya is due to its compatibility I have used Blender since it was still sold by NaN. Was version 1 by Alias Wavefront, on a Silicon Graphics Octane workstation I am familiar with both, (well not Maya LT).
#3d coat steam how to
If you think Maya LT isīetter, you probably just dont know how to use Blender ). Of course I would go with Blender over Maya LT any day.

Modeling, UV mapping and retopology.Īt a very minimum you would need to use it with Blender to do anything. Pipeline cuz its only good for a few things. If your going to use it for making games, then it can only be a part of your production Not that it is better, its just more widely used than 3d coat in the CG industry. Hire yourself out as a digital sculpter, if thats the case you should probably save upįor zbrush. Unless your a straight up 3D artist looking to To its competition actually, and you can purchase it in stages.Īlso, Maya LT is prolly going to be more useful to you for commercial work, assuming The full price is very reasonable compared Upgraded to the full version during a OP: I doubt that they will go with a subscription model, it would likely cost them You should watch their website as well, I bought the edu version directly from them and
